LEARNING PROCESS

The content and intensity of the learning process must be fully adaptable to each student's personal characteristics and observed results.

Therefore, although the LE CAHIER PROGRESSIF method, developed over twenty years of experience, will be followed to master essential theoretical knowledge, class content will also draw upon a wide variety of teaching materials, chosen according to each student's needs and preferences.

LE CAHIER PROGRESSIF naturally combines the learning of oral and written codes. While it encompasses grammar, conjugation, vocabulary, and pronunciation, students will focus primarily on the practical outcome: discourse and its communicative function.

To further personalize the teaching, a written record of errors and difficulties encountered by the student, as well as new vocabulary, explanations, and supplementary examples, is maintained during class. This information is shared via a Google Drive folder.

The general objectives are to improve the student's level in each of the four skills described by the Council of Europe in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

 

ORAL EXPRESSION ACTIVITIES

• Teacher-guided conversation

• Free conversation on current events

• Conversation based on a text

• Conversation based on an audio recording

• Conversation on a pre-established topic

• Role-playing

• Oral presentation on any topic, based or not on written or oral support.

• Oral translation of documents written in Spanish

• Simulation of official oral expression tests (DELF, DALF, EOI, etc.)

• Selection of activities from CLE International oral expression books

• Review of the follow-up file, periodic examination.

ORAL COMPREHENSION ACTIVITIES

• Study of excerpts from French films and series

• Study of French songs

• Study of excerpts from French TV and radio programs

• Dictations based on varied sources

• Oral translation of sentences or texts spoken in French

• Simulation of official oral comprehension tests (DELF, DALF, EOI, etc.)

• Selection of activities from CLE International and other publishers' oral comprehension books

• Review of the follow-up file, periodic examination.

 

POSSIBLE SUPPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES BY THE STUDENT:

• Listening to audiobooks

• Listening to podcasts (Frenchpod101, etc.)

• Using resources available online (TV5 Apprendre, RFI, Gabfle, etc. websites)

• Writing texts on any topic, based or not on written or audio support

• Translation of documents written in Spanish

The completion of these practical activities allows for the definitive acquisition of the theoretical concepts studied in parallel.
